Traditional Strain-Counterstrain

Strain counterstrain is a manual therapy technique for treating neuromuscular and musculoskeletal dysfunction. It is a non-traumatic manual therapy technique where a clinician can rapidly assess the entire body for areas of pain and dysfunction and apply the technique to aid the reduction in adverse neuromuscular activity. The reduction in adverse neuromuscular activity allows the now relaxed structures to function optimally, increasing range of motion, and easing related pain. Strain counter-strain has an extremely broad application, and can be utilized for the continuum of diagnoses from acute sprains/strains to chronic neuromuscular or musculoskeletal conditions.
